Hello, people!
Okay, so it's been a while. I apologize. Somewhere during the time I took a trip to Taiwan from Austria last spring, I stopped blogging. But I've decided to begin again. The more I travel, the more I want to share. And since I'm never going to stop traveling, I figured it's time to catch up on the sharing part.
So here's a quick update of my life:
I finished off my year in Austria with a bang: I spent Easter break in Taiwan and Easter morning in Innsbruck, a few weeks later one of my best friends came to visit me, and then for my last couple weeks in Europe my friend from college came to visit, and we traveled across Italy together. It was pretty much as magical as it sounds--strangely, reuniting with friends is one of the best things about traveling.
I spent the summer at home in Minneapolis, being as lazy as possible while simultaneously trying to fit in as many meet-ups with friends as possible. I certainly struggled with the latter, but more on that another time.
Then another reunion, but in Minneapolis: this time my boyfriend and two good friends came, all three of whom I had met in Vienna.
Somewhere during the course of my time in Vienna, I received an email from my college's career center simply asking if I wanted to consider doing an internship in Germany anytime soon. Obviously I sent back an immediate ''YES,'' and with some visa struggles things rolled into place: I would be working in Düsseldorf, Germany from September through December. I'd be doing an internship in the field of sustainability, which sounded pretty dang sweet.
And now, here I am. Chilling in my office in Düsseldorf. I'm already halfway through my internship, have already learned a ton, and have so far finished no projects but HAVE developed some wicked back pain. It's a painful reminder of why I won't be doing an office job for most of my life. Uffda.
What's next up? New Zealand, of course! I've officially spent all my savings on a flight in January, so there's no turning back now. I'll be living there for up to a year, simply doing work and travel.
There, now you have it. My life in paragraph form.
So, this marks the beginning of my new blog. No more naming blogs after the country I'm currently in, because it would never last long. My new life motto is that I'd better keep moving, so this seemed a fitting title.
Bis gleich,
Hannah
